Sometimes you just shouldn’t multi-task

The thing I like about living in Brookline and commuting to Somerville is that there are a million different ways for me to get there (none of them particularly good) and they all take me through Allston or Brighton.

Thanks to construction on Beacon Street, I’ve been coming down Washington Street, taking a right on Cambridge, and crossing the river.

So this morning, I was sitting at the red light across from the police station (nice trailers, guys) and I heard an ambulance coming from Brighton Center. As it approached the light, the large truck in front of it didn’t move. The ambulance flashed its lights, wailed its siren, and blared its horn, but to no avail. It was then that I realized the driver of the truck was reading a newspaper.
