Minstrel Show - don’t miss it!

If you haven’t seen the St. Anthony’s School Minstrel Show yet, don’t worry - it’s not too late. The last performance is tonight, Monday, April 2nd.

Having seen the show on Saturday night, I would highly recommend it. It was a blast! The first half was chock full of corny jokes and memorable songs from the minstrel chorus, and included a special appearance by Allston’s own Katie Gibbons plus a show-stopping number by the senior citizens of McNamara House. I don’t mean to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, but Sister Rena Foley’s high-kicks could outdo any 25 year-old’s. The second half dazzled with some inventive choreography and fast-paced dance numbers, as well as an extensive selection of solo songs including Neil Diamond’s ‘Sweet Caroline,” sung by MC John Antonelli.

So if you haven’t seen it yet - stop making excuses and go down and check out the show! In doing so you’ll be supporting the community - all proceeds go toward the upkeep and maintenance of the school building.
