OK, so some of you may be asking, what does Rosie O’Donnell leaving The View three weeks early have to do with Allston-Brighton? Well, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, Rosie’s co-host/nemesis/sparring partner, is a Boston College alum (ok, not a real strong connection, but hey, I wanted to blog about this topic).

The two went at it live on the air last Wednesday, in a debate over Iraq, terrorism, and various other issues that only served to highlight the huge divide in both ideology and style between the two. Most agree that liberal Rosie was unnecessarily harsh and confrontational towards the  conservative and sometimes-prissy Hasselbeck, with some viewers complaining that Rosie went over the line from being entertaining and annoying into disruptive and bullying behavior.

Maybe she left her contract early because she couldn’t deal with the flak. Or maybe she and Hasselbeck just couldn’t be civil to each other for the next three weeks, even though they sit on opposite ends of the couch.
