Late night jogging. How late is too late?
Last night around 10:45 p.m., I saw a jogger going for a very late evening run around the Reservoir. Now that’s dedication! Who runs that late last night? And more importantly, is that even safe? I’m not sure I’d feel safe that late at night.

Candidates forum fun
The candidates forum on Monday wasn’t all business. Here are a few lighthearted moments that made me laugh.
When asked what she would do differently from Jerry McDermott, Rosie Hanlon replied that she could offer “a view from a broad.”
Alex Selvig asked voters to elect a motivated city councilor with fresh ideas. James Jenner, who spoke [...]
What a nightmare
Today was by far the worst commute of my life. I do not live in Allston-Brighton, nor do I live in Needham, where our office is. I live in North Attleboro, which means I need to take Interstate 95 and Route 128 to get to my office every day.
This morning, I ran out my door [...]

Tim Schofield on Blue Mass Group
Schofield posted to this site earlier this week and seems to have prompted quite a discussion, including about whether or not it matters that he would be an openly gay city councilor.

Signs, signs, everywhere signs
Since I don’t live in Allston anymore and I’m no longer the A-B TAB reporter, my interest in the city council election is limited to the candidate signs I see when I drive through the area on my way to work.
First, let me commend all the candidates on their very nice signs. Everyone used bold [...]
Hold the fries
Looks like the two McDonald’s that applied to operate 24 hour drive-through windows aren’t going to be serving late night quarter-pounders any time soon.
According to the licensing board, the petition by the McDonald’s at 1223 Commonwealth Ave. has been withdrawn and the petition for the Western Avenue McDonald’s has been deferred.
An amazing stroke of luck
Last night at 10 p.m., I found a parking spot right in front of my building! I was so amazed I could hardly believe it was true. Even went down a half hour later to make sure I hadn’t missed any street cleaning signs that would get my car towed in the morning. But no. [...]
