More on Mr. Butch

The passing of Mr. Butch has led to an outpouring of love from the community. The other day while walking down Harvard Ave. I saw a small message scrawled on a wall that said, “Drink 10 for Butch.” From Comm. Ave. I saw “R.I.P. Butch” sprayed on a roof.”

Lots of videos of the “mayor of Allston” have also been popping up on YouTube. I recommend the two-part documentary Sleeping with Mr. Butch, which offers a candid glimpse into his life. The documentary was put together in Dec. 2006 by Dollartninetyfive Pictures. My favorite part is the end when Butch looks at the money in his hand and then leaves to go buy a beer.
