There were so many great stories told yesterday, but this one from Rich’s article is my favorite..

Stephanie Crandell stood near the pole with her daughter, Ruby, in her hands and told her favorite Butch story. She was pregnant with Ruby in 2000 when Butch approached her and her husband looking for money.
“We told him we didn’t have any money then, so he gave us $10,” she said. “He said, ‘Have a couple of beers on me.’”

I was trying to catch the 66 bus on Cambridge, but the station and the street were blocked off by the parade.

So I joined the march instead, saw some friends and went all the way down to the church. I was glad I did.
