An endorsement
Tim Schofield has just released a statement that he is endorsing Mark Ciommo in the District 9 City Council race.

Street fair sights and sounds
Thousands of people took advantage of the perfect late-September weather to check out the Allston Village Street Fair on Sunday. In case you missed it, here’s a video of some of the highlights.

Low turnout — again
Well, even one of the most important elections in recent A-B history didn’t draw many voters. Maybe the November election still will?
Ciommo, Glennon top two
Unofficial election results are in w. 100 percent of precints reporting and Ciommo and Glennon are the top two vote-getters and will be contending for the seat in the race for District 9 City Councilor in November.
Here’s the break-down:
Ciommo: 1406
Glennon: 1250
Schofield: 965
Hanlon: 576
Selvig: 293
Jenner: 28 (but Jenner dropped out of the race before this primary [...]
Guessing at winners
Rumors are swirling at Tim Schofield’s post-election party (where people are looking somewhat dejected) that the top two vote getters in this race were Ciommo and Glennon.
It’s unclear though where the folks at the Schofield party got their numbers which are in contrast to what’s up on the City of Boston web site so far: [...]

More from the polls
Rich just talked to five more voters at Jackson Mann — four voted for Schofield and one for Selvig.
According to our extremely unscientific poll of 19 people, this puts Schofield and Selvig in the lead with 6 votes total for Schofield and 5 for Selvig. Ciommo and Hanlon each got three of those 19 and [...]
Aren’t people voting?
Ok, what’s going on here? Rich just stopped by the Jackson Mann School and hardly anyone was there. He talked to a poll worked who said it was slow *all day*! How is this possible? This is one of the most important elections A-B has had in recent years?
Anyhow, four people told Rich who they [...]
At the polls
TAB reporter Rich Cherecwich recently headed to the polls for the evening and has done a survey of (so far) 10 people. The votes break down like this: 3 votes for Alex Selvig; 2 each for Ciommo, Glennon and Hanlon, and 1 for Schofield.
Some of the polling locations — the Honan-Allston library for example are [...]
Looking for voters
I stopped by my polling location around mid-morning and it was pretty empty — I’m assuming that that’s only because 10 a.m. isn’t peak voting time and that everyone either showed up earlier or will vote this evening.
Rosie Hanlon, however, sure won the who-has-the-most-signs-up competition, at least in my neck of the woods.
RiverSing photos
Not sure if anyone in A-B had the energy for RiverSing a day full of the Honan 5K, the A-B parade, and the Allston Village Street Fair, but here’s some photos from it.
Miss the Allston Village Street Fair?
Here’s a video of some great performances, including Chinese Martial Arts and Irish Dance.
Campaign freebies
At the Allston Brighton parade yesterday, a member of Rosie Hanlon’s campaign handed me a big white knot. Two seconds later, I was almost belted in the face with another one. What were these knots being tossed to the crowd? Well, I untied mine to find out.
It seems that Rosie Hanlon and Rosie the Riveter [...]
Keeping it clean
After the marching bands, politicians, city council hopefuls and neighborhood organizations, here is the last thing people saw at the Allston Bright Parade yesterday.
They could have at least decorated the street sweepers with streamers. At least we know Brighton Avenue and Cambridge Street weren’t covered in leftover tootsie rolls all day.
(There would be more pictures, [...]
