City Council candidate James Jenner dropped out of the race to replace Jerry McDermott on Monday, one week before the Sept. 25 primary election would narrow the six-person field down to two. Jenner, a lifelong Brighton resident, will now work on former opponent Rosie Hanlon’s campaign as a senior strategist.
“I’m making this decision because I have repeatedly told voters they could always count on me to do what’s in the best interest of Allston-Brighton. Tonight I honor that pledge by deciding to withdraw my candidacy, and instead spend this last week campaigning for Rosie Hanlon,” Jenner said in a statement.
Added Hanlon, “[Jenner] is a man of principal and convcition and he demonstrated that again tonight by making what I know was a difficult decision. I am honored and proud that James has joined my campaign and I look forward to working with him.”

Am I the only one to notice that in this picture Jenner appears to be about to grab Rosie’s breast? LOL
