The sign says election day is Sept. 11, but there’s an election tomorrow as well.

Oct. 9 marks the special state senate election to choose a replacement for Jarrett Barrios to represent the Middlesex, Suffolk & Essex district. Anthony Galluccio won the Democratic primary last month and is running uncontested.

Only 6 percent of registered voters in Allston-Brighton turned out for the primary. To find out if you are part of the tiny shred of Allston represented in this district, visit the state’s Where Do I Vote? Web site.
