Former city council candidate Alex Selvig has been very public with his support for incumbent councilor at-large Felix Arroyo, but there is a new campaign sign in front of Selvig’s Lake Street home.

It seems Selvig is now backing Mark Ciommo in the District 9 race. We’re expecting a press release soon.

Update: Here’s a statement from Selvig.

“Mark Ciommo is always at meetings, park cleanups, and other community events, and has faithfully attended all of our debates. He respects all of the people of Allston-Brighton. Mark’s broad support makes him less beholden to special interests, and will allow him to be an open, accessible, and honest broker for the citizens of our community. I look forward to working with him as our next City Councilor.”

Selvig, who placed fifth in the Sept. 25 primary, is the second former candidate to back Ciommo. Tim Schofield, who placed third, endorsed Ciommo shortly after the primary.
