Student dies after fall

Police are investigating the circumstances that lead to the death of a 21-year-old student early Saturday morning at 14 Glenville Ave.

Police responded to a call of a fight during a party at the address around 2:30 a.m. and were later told that a man was injured in the rear alley of the building. Shawn Down, 21, of Peabody, was treated by EMTs on scene and was taken by ambulance to Brigham and Woman’s Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police believe Dow died as a result of blunt force trauma from falling from the roof of the four-story apartment building. Read more here.
