Police are searching for a man who escaped with $650 after allegedly robbing a bank in Brighton Center on Friday, Nov. 23. It was the third bank heist in Brighton in a week.

According to police, a man entered the Mercantile Bank at 423 Washington St. at 3:30 p.m., passed a note to the bank teller, showed a handgun and said, “Give me all your hundreds. No dye packs. I’ll see you after work.”

The teller gave the man $650 and the man put the gun into the back of his pants and left the bank, walking in the street toward Chestnut Hill Avenue, witnesses told police.

Witnesses described the suspect as an Asian man in his mid-20s, wearing a black Red Sox hat, black jacket and blue jeans.
