Harvard prez says Globe got it wrong

The headline of this story in today’s Boston Globe makes it seem like Harvard is stopping the trucks from driving down Western Avenue and throwing their Allston plans into the Charles River. Not the case.

We’re expecting a statement soon, but the second to last paragraph says the expansion is still happening:

In the interview, Faust emphasized that the university will continue with the Allston expansion because the school needs more laboratory, residential, arts, and academic facilities but has no room for physical growth in either Cambridge or Longwood. But to succeed, Harvard must include wide consultation, she said.

Faust was also on WBZ Radio today, where she said the Globe story “seriously misrepresents what we’re up to.” Faust went on to say there is “no way in which we’re slowing down.”
