Fake cop

Sadly, impostors posing as police officers are not that uncommon in A-B. Similar incidents to the one below, reported in this week’s cop log, have happened before:

A 25-year-old Brighton resident reported that a man posing as a police officer robbed him of cash and electronics on Dec. 23. The man was inside his Leicester Street home when the suspect knocked on the door around 2:15 p.m. and reportedly said, “I am a police officer looking for drugs,” police said. The suspect went into the victim’s room and confiscated $700 cash, a video camera, a laptop and the victim’s passport. He then drove the victim to the computer store where he bought the laptop to make sure it wasn’t stolen. When the victim got out of the car, the suspect drove away with his belongings.

    Seriously?

Sounds like a fishy story to me…
