When loud noises are just plain annoying

I know I live in the college student-friendly neighborhood of Brighton, but sometimes things get ridiculous (or maybe I’m just getting more curmudgeonly as I get older). Take for instance, the past three Friday nights when I awoke to the yelling of drunk just-out-of-college students who prefer to party in my hallway than in their apartment. Now, it’s true my building doesn’t allow undergrads, but maybe management needs to have age restrictions (you know, nobody under 25 admitted).

And one more thing while I’m on the subject of noise: why does my upstairs neighbor sound like he/she’s on a hamster wheel? One day, I’m going to go up there, knock on the door and find out there’s a hamster living above me. If he/she is not a hamster, I’ll be really let down. Really let down.

On that note, I need to take a nap because it’s been a long night of noise.
