Prospective 1501 Commonwealth Ave is more like the 1930s

Charing Cross, the proposed five-story building at 1501 Comm. Ave sure has some gorgeous architecture planned. But what about the Packard cars out front? And the trolley to the left? Lastly, where can I get a snazzy outfit like the ones on the pedestrians walking down Comm. Ave?

Sarah don’t be fooled! Look at the Waterworks development at Cleveland Circle -same developer - brick building with not one stone “detail” - looks more like a modern prison than an echo of the grandure of the architceture it should echo. No wonder the artist needed to add the car and people - to distract us!!!
Hey, “local resident” — you’re spreading misinformation. The Waterworks building was done by a different architect than the Charing Cross proposal for 1501 Comm. Ave., and should not be compared.
Additionally, you’re asking for stone details while you have no knowledge of the budgetary constraints of either of these two projects (the Waterworks was burdened with huge, very costly historic restoration of the big Pumping Stations; 1501 Comm.Ave. has a heavy affordable housing component). No other proposal for this site has better architecture than Charing Cross.
I said same DEVELOPER not same ARCHITECT.
