Throwing each other for fun

The women in the Boston League of Women’s Wrestlers enjoy taking falls for fun. Don’t believe me? Then check out this video, where Green Line Greta (real name: Steph Myers) explains why these ladies love leg locks.

He’s so… melty

Seen on Beacon Street tonight near Cleveland Circle:

If you couldn’t tell, the snowman has twigs for arms and a New Year’s party hat on, which no snowman should be without this time of year.

Farewell

No one likes Mondays, but today is particularly bittersweet because it begins my last week here at the Tab. I’ve greatly enjoyed meeting and writing about the fun, eccentric and dedicated people of Allston-Brighton, as well as the issues they face.
So, in honor of my last week, here are five of my favorite stories that [...]

Massage, tattoos and classes for $30?

It sounds like a deal too good to be true, but that’s what attendees of the Wellness Resolution at Rock City Body studio at 107 Brighton Ave. on Sunday Jan. 13 will get access to. The Wellness Resolution is a fundraiser for the Accelerated Cure Project for multiple sclerosis research.

When loud noises are just plain annoying

I know I live in the college student-friendly neighborhood of Brighton, but sometimes things get ridiculous (or maybe I’m just getting more curmudgeonly as I get older). Take for instance, the past three Friday nights when I awoke to the yelling of drunk just-out-of-college students who prefer to party in my hallway than in their [...]

New food blog

We’ve launched a new blog for Boston-area foodies with contributions by writers from several of our sister papers.
They like to eat. They’re hot. Or maybe they like their food hot. Be sure to check out “Hot, Buttered and Toasted” today.

Shovel it out

Holy moly. Driving down Comm. Ave. today, I noticed there are still dozens of cars buried under a few feet of snow.
I know people don’t necessarily use their cars everyday-I lived in the city for four years without one- but can you at least shovel it out so the snow isn’t blocking the road? Please.

What’s a Christkindlmarkt?

Well, it’s just like it sounds. A Christkindlmarkt is a traditional German Christmas fair, and we’ve got one right in Allston this Saturday.
The German International School will host a Christmas fair complete with German food, crafts, baked goods and music at the former St. Anthony’s School, 57 Holton St., from 1 p.m. to 5 [...]

Check out the video below for highlights and some holiday shopping tips from Allston Village Main Streets director Katie Reed and Model Hardware owner Bob Webber. (For the record, [...]
