Listen to the Kiwanis Star talent show
Did you miss the show last night? We’ve got video from it! See our story about the Kiwanis Star talent show; just scroll down toward the end, and you’ll find the video.
The polls are closed
We hope you went out there and voted. How was it by the way? It wasn’t too packed at my polling location today around mid-morning but there *were* voters there. Not to sound cynical about A-B’s usual voter turnout rate, but I thought that was a good sign — in some elections the poll workers [...]
Down to the wire
Supporters of Barack Obama gathered for a rally on the Mass. Ave. bridge, Monday, February 4. The event had sign holders lining both sides of the bridge. The grassroots effort was made up of supporters contacted primarily over the internet.
Brighton resident Leslie Sterling shows her support and enthusiasm for the candidate.
Glennon conceded
Greg Glennon has conceded. Ciommo’s the winner of the District 9 city council race.
Arroyo’s out
According to unofficial word from a mayoral spokesman, Felix Arroyo may have lost his bid for re-election to Boston City Council. This is of course unofficial — we’ll let you know if any numbers come in that say otherwise.
Arroyo’s slipping
Results for the at-large race are going up on the City of Boston site and, while its only a minority of precincts reporting so far, Arroyo seems to be slipping. Will Connolly bump him out of the council?
Ciommo beats Glennon for A-B council seat
Unofficial word at the Ciommo campaign party is the Ciommo won the race by 900 votes. We’ll have more soon.
Dedicated voters
Wow, it’s really going to take some effort for less-than-passionate voters to brave the weather today and get themselves to the polls. It’s terrible out there!
Some folks though aren’t letting anything stop them. This morning, in the pouring rain, I saw an older woman at my polling location — she was clearly having a difficult [...]
Vote
As the sign says, Tuesday is election day. I’ll be at the polling places talking to voters and hitting up both candidates’ post-election parties (Mark Ciommo’s is at the Corrib, 396 Market St., while Greg Glennon’s is at Cafe Brazil, 421 Cambridge St.). Tune in Tuesday night for the results as we know them.
Right now, [...]

Tolman, Moran endorse Ciommo
City council candidate Mark Ciommo continues to rack up endorsements in the days preceding the Nov. 6 election, as state Sen. Steven Tolman and state Rep. Michael Moran both announced their support on Tuesday.
In statements, both politicians praised Ciommo’s roots and leadership history in Allston-Brighton.
“Mark knows how to fight for this neighborhood, because he has [...]
Where were the voters?
Only 124 votes were cast in Allston-Brighton yesterday in the special state election for the Middlesex, Suffolk and Essex Senate district, according to unofficial results from the city election department. Cambridge City Councilor Anthony Galluccio, who ran unopposed after winning the Democratic primary last month, received 119 of those votes.
While only six precincts of A-B [...]
Vote
The sign says election day is Sept. 11, but there’s an election tomorrow as well.
Oct. 9 marks the special state senate election to choose a replacement for Jarrett Barrios to represent the Middlesex, Suffolk & Essex district. Anthony Galluccio won the Democratic primary last month and is running uncontested.
Only 6 percent of registered voters [...]

If you’re registered in Ward 21, precincts 4, 6, or 7 or Ward 22, precincts 1, 2 or 5, get [...]
