The headline of this story in today’s Boston Globe makes it seem like Harvard is stopping the trucks from driving down Western Avenue and throwing their Allston plans into the Charles River. Not the case.

Quick updates from last night’s Harvard-Allston Task Force meeting:
The Allston-Brighton North Neighbors Forum presented their community benefits proposal (full story coming soon).

Group protests Harvard vacancies
A small group from the Allston-Brighton Neighborhood Assembly protested Harvard’s land use policy before the Harvard-Allston Task Force meeting Wednesday night. The protesters stood in front of the Harvard-owned former Charlesbank Cleaners on Western Avenue and held signs that said “We need homes, jobs schools and shops, not vacant buildings.”

Harvard applies for license
Harvard officials went before the office of consumer affairs and licensing this morning, seeking an entertainment license to hold five football games at Harvard Stadium, including the Sept. 22 game against Brown, scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m.

Harvard game rescheduled
The Sept. 21 game against Brown has been rescheduled, and will now be played Saturday, Sept. 22, school officials said. Kickoff will still be at 7:30 p.m.
