That’s according to a Boston Herald article that says Allston’s housing market is attracting more young professionals and immigrants, not just BU college students.

Outdoor festival celebrates Brazilian culture — Sunday!

Boston’s Brazilians are celebrating their country’s independence this week with four days of cultural and historical events organized by the Allston-based Brazilian Women’s group. The annual celebration culminates this Sunday, Sept. 7, with an outdoor festival at Artesani Park in Brighton.

ISD issues more tickets for trash in A-B than anywhere else

Move in time movin’ in

It’s not officially move in day yet, but the moving trucks are already starting to pop up around Brighton and Allston. Get ready for a chaotic weekend and streets clogged with furniture and trucks. Consider walking and leave the car at home.

Circle Cinema closing

Circle Cinema in Cleveland Circle will close Sept. 7 because it no longer makes enough money. National Amusements says they’re going to try to find jobs at their other cinemas around Boston for their employees in Cleveland Circle and at a Lawrence theater.

It drew Almost 100 participants but Squirt Gun Day in Allston also required some police intervention, boston.com reports.

Face painting at Shaw’s
