Tomorrow: Blowing in the wind

Wind power again leads the Times & Courier front page, with a report on whether the selectmen’s alternative energy committee (with Tony Marini) will play nice with the schools’ windmill effort (led by Virginia West, who first suggested turbines last summer). Check back at WickedLocalClinton on Thursday for an update on what Terrence Ingano said about grants at Tuesday’s School Committee meeting.
Also making the front are features on Barry Whitney and Gregory Stahl, two Clintonians honored recently, and on the Lancaster master plan.
The most interesting news bit in this week’s paper is between the lines, though — on Page 3, under the headline “College Unveils ‘New Focus,’” we’ve got the first word of changes coming down the pike at Atlantic Union College. We would have written a story, but details so far are scarce — all we know is that the college plans to “specialize” on something, although we get the sense that it won’t be to the exclusion of liberal arts.
Check back later this week today at WickedLocalLancaster for the scoop on the college’s initiative, beginning next August, to put AUC’s academic subjects at the service of community-building and local and church leadership.
Updated 12/12 after speaking with AUC’s president.
