He pulled aside the curtain and … Selectman Joseph Notaro Jr. is indeed the wizard behind the TheLocalIndependent.com (only don’t bother clicking on that link, because it redirects to his “official” Web site).
He plans to quit updating the “other” Indy — he says he only worked on it for a couple weeks in 2007, then gave it up when it became too much of a time investment — but revive his campaign blog, where he posted this Sunday morning:
Honestly, I am concerned for Patrick and he has become too consumed by all of this negative blogging. The community needs people who want to help solve problems using positive insight and objectives.
Nothing so far by way of reaction to this tempest-in-a-teapot revelation from Patrick Brodrick, but mixed reviews from the peanut gallery. At Ken MacGray’s ClintonMass.com and in comments here on Behind the Times’ earlier post, folks said they were happy to see a selectman online explaining his votes, and that Brodrick’s writing style begged for rebuttal. Meanwhile, in the comments section of Notaro’s blog, readers asked the selectman if his condemnation of name-calling and libel extended to a message board that frequently attacks Notaro’s opponents and a site that bashes Selectman Kevin Haley.
