The Georgetown Police Department is trying to figure out how to manage a $73K cut in their budget this year. Police Chief James Mulligan has said his only solution is to layoff an officer.

What’s your take on this problem? Do you think the police department should have noticed the budget cut sooner? Or do you think the Finance Advisory Board should have made the cuts clearer?

Two news businesses opened in town this week. Niki’s Roast Beef and Pizza celebrated its grand opening on Wednesday at 7 Central Street (the old Toula’s building). PGH Kids Yoga studio will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday at 52 Central St. (Georgetown Shopping Center plaza) with a day full of events.
