Traffic on the A. Piatt Andrew Bridge was flowing freely this morning in both directions.
As promised, construction crews had all four lanes open for traffic by Memorial Day.
With no paving crews in site, Route 128 was clear all the way to Beverly. A nice start to the long weekend.

Team Re-lei for a Cure is using a flock of pink flamingoes as it raises money for the American Cancer Society. For $20, a team member will place a flock of flamingoes on a friend’s lawn. The person has to pay $10 to remove the flock, or $15 to forward the flock to another friend’s lawn. Pre-Flamingo Insurance is available for $10 to make sure you never get flocked. Or if you have been flocked and never want to be flocked again, Post-Flamingo Insurance is $5. Flocking is done in good spirits and is not meant to be malicious. Participants should be willing.
To partake in this fundraiser, contact Patty or Melanie Wall at 978-283-4406 or 978-317-5975, Julie Thibedeau at 978-430-3660, or Paula Bertolino at pbertolino@hotmail.com.

The Schooner Adventure is one of 25 historic sites in Massachusetts that are eligible for part of $1 million in preservation grants offered by the Partnership in Preservation.
“The Adventure is a key part of Gloucester’s heritage as well as the maritime history of Massachusetts,” said Joanne Souza, director of the Schooner Adventure. “Boston is filled with worthy historic sites, but we need the help of everyone, around the world, who believes that our maritime history is worth preserving. Gloucester is America’s oldest fishing port, this is a chance to help preserve that history.”
Go to www.PartnersinPreservation.com to cast your vote for the Adventure and help make the schooner seaworthy again. Built in Essex in 1926, the Adventure was the last American dory-trawler, fishing in the North Atlantic when she retired in 1953.
Online voting runs through May 17.
