I totally agree with what this article has to say about Christian winning based on personality. As in, he HAD to win because he brought the only personality to the television show. You know that little bit they say at the end of each show, about how “producers decisions” are also taken into account when deciding whom to eliminate each week? Well, I think we saw that in action all season as Ricky kept defying the odds by staying on the show through disastrous garment after horrific creation. Now, it’s like I said yesterday – Christian was destined to win, party because his clothes are well crafted and he has a vision, but because this show will wither and die if it doesn’t bring some younger contenders back to the audition room.
Amateurs need not apply?

As Tim Gunn said to the Boston Globe recently, the longer Bravo does Project Runway, the fewer true amateurs and recent design school grads need apply (and few are brave enough to attempt it). The talent competing has gotten more advanced, and is tapping an already established pool of fashion applicants. Take Rami Kashou, left, who has already worked with Jessica Alba and other A-list celebrities. If he wins Project Runway tonight, will it really be such a coup? Producers have admitted that they rejected Rami in past seasons because they thought he would be too skilled and could outshine the other contestants. Tim said they almost didn’t agree to even audition Christian Siriano, who applied as a design school senior with some significant work experience under his belt. He’s now been called a one-of-a-kind by Tim Gunn. If Christian wins tonight, will it bring the younger contestants back to the auditions? And will audiences like it better that way — or have they come to expect a higher caliber of work from these purported amateurs, who are supposedly waiting — and competing — to be “discovered?”

So, they pulled a Season Three and let four people go to fashion week. Except this time, only three will actually get to SHOW — meaning either Rami or Chris will spend all that time and money putting together a collection, only to be told they can’t show when the time comes. Is that fair? I think they should have made a decision. And how bad does Sweet P feel, being the ONLY designer in the final 5 to not be picked for fashion week? At least the dress she made truly wasn’t good.
